8A – Solving The Problem

A solution to the opportunity mentioned in the previous post is simple. Start small with some business that you know the owners and show them what you can do. Then grow your business from there. Once you have a business send flyers to all local business to see if you get some interviews. If you get some calls then you’ll need to sell them on the idea of modernizing their business.

  1. Matt,

Thanks for your post. I am not a computer guy, but understand the value of a CRM service, SEO, and database management for businesses. I have used NetSuite and SalesForce in the past. I found them to be pretty straight forward and user friendly. The companies offered tech support and tutorials for the lay users like myself. What would be your competitive advantage over these products and services?

    Thanks again for your post.

    Matt

  2. I think it is a good idea to use your connections first and show them how you can help their business. In addition, word of mouth will help when business owners communicate to each other. As well as sending out flyers, it might help to call businesses and talk to a decision maker. One problem with flyers is that a person in charge of making big decisions may never see it.

  3. Matt,

I understand how important it is for small businesses to have the right tools and knowledge to implement and run their own IT systems. Furthermore, I think that Matthew brings up a good point when he talks about how other companies are already doing this. Find something that gives you a competitive advantage! Also, after the employees are trained and the small businesses short term IT problems are fixed, how would you prevent them from being a one time customer?

  4. Matt, I think that it would be a great start to create some flyers and pass them out to prospective business owners. However, I think it would be a more efficient approach to try to market this idea online rather than hand them a piece of paper that could get lost. In my own experience, it is a lot easier to go back to an email that was sent to me.
